Obstacles to Forgiveness
Pride
“My pain is greater than anyone else’s pain.”
“I have even suffered more than God.
Self Pity
Making an idol of my sufferings and worshiping at the alter of my own hurts.
Fear of being vulnerable.
I need my forgiveness/ anger for protection. If I forgive they may do that same thing again.
Unwillingness to face the pain
“I’d rather not think about it
A misguided sense of loyalty
There’s nothing really to forgive.
