Misunderstanding Forgiveness

We cannot forgive just like that. Is God overlooking what happened to me? Does it mean God think what haappened is okay?
Exodus 3:4
Sin is sin; today or 10 years after. Sin will remain sin. What we need to do is to give unto the Lord. Forgiveness does not mean that what happend to me was ok. It’s not denying what happened to us.
If you are able you must face your pain and express your pain.
Don’t have pride over the pain you have. Don’t deny that you have pain in you. Don’t stop your healing by neglecting your pain.
Some say we must forgive and forget. That is not true. We cannot forget, but we can forgive.
We remove the sin from the person and put it on the cross. When I remember the sin that was committed against me, I remember the cross instead. My sins were nailed on the cross.
• Forgiveness is not saying, “it doesn’t matter, or condoning sin”.
• Forgiveness is not denying our feelings of anger, sadness, etc.
• Forgiveness is not forgetting or being unable to recall it.
• Forgivess is not concealing sin.
• Forgiveness does not mean refusing to co-operate with the nation’s judicial system.
• Forgiveness does not mean avoiding confrontation if that is necessary.
(matthew 18)
Forgiveness is costly
• To forgive someone will cost one to face pain and to express it. Praise God that forgiveness came free but not cheap.
Forgive, and God will hold the person who sinned against you accounatble.
It is important to forgive. How serious unforgiveness is.
Forginess is when we chose to respond and exchange with Jesus. Forgiveness had been available since (before) I was born..
1 Peter 2:22-23
Why does God ask us to forgive:
• It blocks our ability to receive our healing; it blocks us to understaand Calvary; it blocks us to receive forgiveness.
• It gives satan a foothold in our lives, and we become liable to making judgements and being judged.
God is painfully just!!!
