AN EVANGELIST YET TO COME

Leonardo Vicente Muianga is a young man age 13. I met him on my second visit to Nkobe care centre in Maputo Mozambique. The first time I didn’t notice him. I just remember that he once offered to teach me how to speak Portuguese and that was that.

This time he came to introduce himself to me. I was just taking a walk around the care point when I heard him saying, “Hello Mr. Solomon.”

‘Hello young man, how are you?’ I said.

“I’m well thanks. Thank God you are here.” He said with excitement. “I have a testimony to share with you.” He continued.

‘Wow,’ I thought to myself. ‘He is such an amazing young man’.

‘What’s your name by the way?’ I asked.

“I’m Leonardo. Don’t you remember me? I’m the one who offered to teach you Portuguese. I’m the son of the lady who owns a new house not far from this care point. The woman you took a picture with. Thank God that house was built for us by the Healing Place Church.” He said not willing to stop talking. I was carefully listening and interested in everything he was saying.

“The church built us this house for us. I just thank God for that. I can’t say the church did it, but God did. People are surprised how we got such luck; but they don’t know that God is a God for everyone. Some are jealous, but nothing they can change.” He said without me uttering a word.

“My father died last year. We are only 4 at home. I’m the second born and my elder sister works as a domestic worker. My sister is just 17 of age and she is a bread winner. She earns 700 meticais and she real helps us survive. Sometimes we go days without food.” He continued speaking. I was moved by each and every word he said.

“My mother is a sickly someone. She suffers from some spirits sent by people to her. Thank God that we are protected. My grandmother had just disappeared and no one knows where she is by now.” He said with his frown face.

‘Let’s hope she is well where ever she is.’ I finally said something. ‘God is a God of miracles. She will come back one day safe and sound.’ I continued.

Leonardo continued to testify about his life and how responsible he is as the only son amongst the girls.

He couldn’t stop his appreciation towards the pastor; Ps. Isaac and his wife Carol. He thanks God for bringing them to Mozambique. His wish as a young man is to work for God and one day becomes an evangelist.

He is willing to go anywhere God takes him. Our conversation stops as he was rushing to attend a youth service; but we met again Sunday. We sat side by side. He was translating for me the preaching from Portuguese to Shangaan. He also introduced his nephew to me.

I promised see him and give him much time on my permanent return to Mozambique. I can’t wait to work with him.

“I just encouraged him to be faithful to God and work for Him.”

CHOICES

I visited St. Frances and Ka Boyce High School in Mbabane last week to preach about Choices. I was in the company of my wife Precious, my daughter Nanette and our family friend Natalie. Read and be blessed;

CHOICES

Joshua 24:15 “If you are not willing to serve Him, decide today whom you will serve, the gods your ancestors worshiped in Mesopotamia or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are now living. As for my family and me, we will serve the LORD."

Why choices?

Choices determine our destiny. (you will reach your destination based on what you choose today)
What you choose today impacts your future. (When things go wrong in future you have no one else to blame, but yourself. When things go right in future, then you will celebrate and you will think back to the choices you made in the past)

Most young people make choices based on what their peers tells them. Today I want to challenge you to make a choice based on what you think is right for you.

I want you to choose between LIFE and death.

On the side of LIFE we have JESUS:

John 14:6 says, “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man will come to the Father, but by me.”

He is God.
He is the Alpha and Omega.
The God of the family.
He is the living God.
He is the Ruler/Master.
He is the Mighty one.
He is the Most High.
He is the God who sees.
He is the eternity.
He is the All Sufficient God.
He is the Independent One.
He is the Lord Our Maker.
He is Our Provider.
He is our Healer.
He is Our Author, Our Captain.
He is the Son of God.
He is the King of Peace.
He is the King of kings.
He is the King of Righteousness.
He is there.

On the side DEATH we have the devil:

· he is the god of evil.
· he is the killer
· he is the deceiver.
· he is the liar.
· he is the destroyer.
· master of all evils.
· he is the destroyer.

-The Devil creates distractions and allusions to deflect us from reaching our goal. He has the ability to make things that are in God's purpose unimportant

-The devil despises God's law

NOW YOU CAN MAKE A CHOICE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN.

CHOOSE NOW, TOMORROW IS NOT YOURS.
NO LIVING BEING CAN GUARANTEE YOU TOMORROW.
CHOOSE TODAY FOR YOUR DESTINY.
CHOOSE LIFE TO LIVE.

REMEMBER YOU ARE YOUR OWN HERO AT THE END OF THE DAY.

Hero

There's a hero

If you look inside your heart

You don't have to be afraid

Of what you are

There's an answer

If you reach into your soul

And the sorrow that you know

Will melt away
And then a hero comes along

With the strength to carry on

And you cast your fears aside

And you know you can survive

So when you feel like hope is gone

Look inside you and be strong

And you'll finally see the truth

That a hero lies in you
It's a long road

When you face the world alone

No one reaches out a hand

For you to hold

You can find love

If you search within yourself

And the emptiness you felt

Will disappear
And then a hero comes along

With the strength to carry on

And you cast your fears aside

And you know you can survive

So when you feel like hope is gon

Look inside you and be strong

And you'll finally see the truth

That a hero lies in you
Lord knows

Dreams are hard to follow

But don't let anyone

Tear them away

Hold on

There will be tomorrow

In time You'll find the way
And then a hero comes along

With the strength to carry on

And you cast your fears aside

And you know you can survive

So when you feel like hope is gone

Look inside you and be strong

And you'll finally see the truth

That a hero lies in you
