The worst thing in life is to be forced to do something you have nothing to do with. I grew up with this anger, “Revenge, revenge, revenge!!!” That was the only thing that bothered me for many years. Why was I involved in a war I had nothing to do with. Why were their children spared and given education while we held guns in our arms and ordered to kill?
Today we are ignored; no education for us; no work for us!!! We need to stand against our future generations so that they don't go through what we went through.
On 1st June 2010, I Solomon Mondlane (ex-child soldier) will be taking a walk in a campaign against the use of child soldiers. The aim of the walk is to raise an awareness against the use of children in the army.
This walk is initiated by different concerned organisations and it will be used as a fundraising event for organisations fighting against the use of children in war.
Pictures obtained from:
Date: 01 June 2010
From: Pretoria
To: Johannesburg
Time: 05h30 until the end of the walk (We don’t know after how long, but we must reach Johannesburg)
Distance: 64 kilometres
For more info contact me on the above contacts.
You are welcome to support us; to join us for the walk; to donate materials with messages and slogans against child soldiers’ use; to spread the word and etc.
We will appreciate your cooperation!!!
Regards,
Solomon Mondlane
