11 – 15 January 2010
The workshop (Permaculture, Eduplant, Trees for Homes, National Tree Distribution) was informative, educational and empowering.
The topics covered link direct to the practical fieldwork, which makes it easy for one to implement the work required in different programmes.
The permaculture/ eduplant workshop gave much understanding and knowledge on the programme. Selected topics were prioritized not because there are important than the other, but because some were duplicates of each other; and also to enable facilitators to run a one day workshop in schools effectively. The workshop also emphasized on activities such as role plays, group discussions, ice breakers and music as the most important tools in conducting a one day workshop.
In as far as the eduplant competition is concerned; enlightenment was given in terms of the questions asked, and on issues of prejudging and the type of forms used. It also gave more information in the way one is supposed to approach the learners when prejudging, and on what one is supposed to focus on. It made a clear understanding on different competition categories (Emerging, Intermediate, Advance and Mentoring).
With the Trees for Homes and the National Tree Distribution programme; it gave more detailed information in planning for the workshops and events. This is meant to help the facilitators run the programme accordingly.
Overall the workshop was very important especially to the clueless in terms of the programmes dealt with.
